About Us
Since 1968
In 1968, Walter McGregor (1916-2007) opened a Kingsville office to serve the clients of his busy commercial law practice. He set up shop in a quaint, red-brick home on Main Street East. In 1974, Terrence L. Sims joined the firm after spending summers working for Mr. McGregor. Over the years, our firm has served the residents of Kingsville/Essex County, helping them with their legal needs. We've always been a small-town firm and it is these values that we bring to everything that we do: real estate, wills/estates and farming/business advice. We look forward to continuing to provide our services in this way for many years to come.

Real Estate
We represent buyers and sellers of residential, agricultural, commercial, retail and industrial properties, in addition to acting for institutional and private lenders. We also assist US residents looking to sell properties in Southwestern Ontario.
Wills/Estates
Our firm can assist with all facets of estate planning. We prepare powers of attorney, wills and codicils and work closely with your tax and wealth advisors to ensure that your legacy is protected. After the passing of a loved one, we help you navigate the sometimes complicated world of obtaining probate, liquidating property and investments and distributing estate assets to beneficiaries. Our lawyers are happy to act as professional Estate Trustees to assist with complex estates and/or where beneficiaries live far away.
Corporate/Business Advising
We represent small, medium and large businesses, sole proprietors and corporations. From incorporating a company, to setting up a shareholder agreement, our firm has solutions for every budget. We also assist clients with the purchase and/or sale of businesses and work closely with a range of accounting professionals in Southwestern Ontario.
Employment/Human Resources
We help employers and professionals to draft and negotiate employment agreements. Ms. Hart also provides general HR advice to employers. If you've been terminated and have received a buyout proposal, our team is here to review it with you and, where necessary, connect you with outside litigation counsel.
Notarial Services
Mr. Schmoranz and Ms. Hart are licensed notaries in the Province of Ontario. We can prepare travel letters, notarize documents and witness/commission affidavits. We also assist with time-share transactions in the United States.
Mediation
Ms. Hart and Mr. Schmoranz use their negotiation and consensus building skills to help parties resolve conflicts.
In particular, they help resolve disagreements arising from estates. The passing of a loved one is never easy, and can frequently lead to disputes that can be emotionally and financially damaging. A mediator can help the parties discuss their concerns in an open and constructive manner and guide them toward a lasting resolution.
Mr. Schmoranz also offers mediation services for most personal injury, commercial and general civil litigation matters.
